The
Helperyour questions, answered
I tried to put the answers right inside your Helper, but here's everything in one spot. Check here first. It's the fastest way to get back to planning! ♡
The 3 things to know
if you only read one part, read this
Your plan saves only on the phone or computer you use. I can't see it, and I can't get it back if it's lost.
Tap 💾 Back up or load my plan, copy your plan link, and text it to yourself. Done.
Use it all season. Print your plan and recipe cards before the new year so they're yours to keep.
Before you buy
What it is (and isn't)
Is this a PDF or a printable?
No. The Thanksgiving Helper is an interactive planner that opens in your web browser on my website. You type in your plans and it does the math and builds your schedule for you. When you're done, you can print your plan or save it as a PDF.
Do I need an app, AI, or a subscription?
No AI, no subscription, and nothing to download. It works on its own. You just need a web browser.
Do I need a computer, or can I use my phone?
Use whatever you like best! The Helper is made to work great on a phone, and Thanksgiving Day mode is built for your phone in the kitchen. I personally like my computer because typing in recipes feels faster to me, but it's totally your call. Just pick one device and finish where you start, because your plan saves only on the device and browser you use.
Do I need a printer?
Nope, not at all! Everything works right on your screen, and you can save your plan as a PDF to keep on your phone or computer. Printing is completely optional.
I'm not hosting on Thanksgiving Day. Does it still work?
Yes. Change your feast day and eating time in The basics and everything (countdown, cooking schedule, calendar) moves with it.
How long do I have access?
Through December 31, 2026. That covers the whole holiday season to plan, cook, and print.
Why does my access end on December 31?
Because I'm already working on next year! I'm taking everything I learn from this year's hosts (that's you!) and using it to make next year's Helper even better. Before your access ends, print your plan and recipe cards so they're yours to keep.
Can I get a refund?
Because this is a digital product, all sales are final.
Opening your Helper
Getting in after checkout
How do I open it after I buy?
Open your order confirmation email and tap Open my Thanksgiving Helper. Log in with the same email you used at checkout. You'll get a quick code to sign in, and your Helper opens right there. Save that email or bookmark the page so you can always find it.
It says I don't have access. What do I do?
Make sure you're logged in with the email you used at checkout. If you checked out with a different email, log out and log back in with that one. Still stuck? Reply to your order confirmation email.
Saving + moving your plan
Please read this one!
Where is my plan saved?
Only on the device and browser you use. I can't see your plan, and I can't get it back if it's lost. That's why backups matter (see below).
Can my plan get erased?
Yes, so please read this one. iPhone and iPad (Safari) can erase saved website data if you don't open your Helper for about a week. Clearing your browser history or using a private window erases it too. Open your Helper often and keep a backup.
How do I back up my plan or move it to another device?
Tap the 💾 Back up or load my plan button near the top. It's one button for both: backing up and loading your plan. The easiest way is Copy my plan link: text or email it to yourself, then open it on the other device and your whole plan loads. That text or email is also your backup. You can also copy a plan code and keep it somewhere safe. Make a new backup any time you make big changes.
Back up or move your plan
Takes about a minute. Start on the device that has your plan. One button does it all: 💾 Back up or load my plan.

swipe for all 5 steps →
Loading a plan replaces whatever was saved on that device. After you move, keep planning on the new device only.
Can my spouse or family use it too?
Plans don't sync between devices. You can send your plan link to someone so they can open a copy, but changes they make won't show up on yours. It works best with one person as the planner.
If the Helper gets updated, will I lose my plan?
No. The Helper updates on its own when improvements are made, and your saved answers stay put.
Using the Helper
Recipes, guests, allergies + cooking times
What's the sample plan I see first?
Every answer in it is an example, so you can see where things go. Look around, then tap OK, I get it. Clear the examples and make it yours.
How do I type amounts like 1/4 cup?
Type 1/4 in the amount box and cup in the unit box. Fractions like 1 1/2, 1-1/2 and ½ work too. A capital T means tablespoon and a lowercase t means teaspoon. For salt, pepper, or flour for rolling, leave the amount blank and it shows "as needed."
How do I add something I'm buying, like canned cranberry sauce?
Add it in Your recipes and pick Store-bought, ready-made. If it doesn't need warming, pick No warming needed. It goes on your shopping list, and your Thanksgiving Day schedule reminds you to set it out before dinner.
Does it resize my recipes?
Yes. It sizes your recipes for your guest count, including box mixes, and turns everything into one shopping list sorted by store and aisle. If the same ingredient is in more than one recipe, like butter, it adds them up into one line and shows which recipes need it. If you leave "serves" blank, the recipe stays as written.
Can I order some things online?
Yes. In the store menu for that item, pick Order it online instead.
What cooking methods can I use?
Oven, stovetop, slow cooker, air fryer, deep fryer, pressure cooker, smoker, grill, and more. Add the temperature and time from your recipe. If your recipe gives a range, use the longer time.
Does it watch for allergies?
Yes. Add any allergies and the Helper flags matching ingredients on your shopping list and recipe cards. It even catches small spelling slips.
Allergies are serious. Please triple-check every ingredient, read every label, and ask your guests. Grace Co. Shop is not responsible for allergic reactions. You're in charge of what you serve.
What does the oven clash warning mean?
Two dishes need the oven at the same time at different temperatures. The Helper flags it so you can adjust a time or a temperature before the big day.
Someone can't come anymore. What do I do?
Remove them, and the Helper shows you anything they were bringing or helping with so nothing falls through the cracks. It also lets you lower your guest count with one tap.
Are the cooking times exact?
No. Times and amounts are general estimates from common published guides. You're in charge of your own cooking and food safety. Always follow your package directions and check that your turkey reaches 165°F. If you get stuck, the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line (1-800-288-8372) and the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline are listed inside your Helper.
Printing + your bonus
Keep it forever
Can I print my plan?
Yes, if you want to (you don't need a printer). Tap Printable plan to print or save a PDF with your calendar, countdown, recipe cards, shopping list, cooking schedule, and job list. If you have overnight guests, there's a meal schedule too.
Save your plan as a PDF
Your plan, recipe cards, fridge calendar and pennant all save the same way.

Then, on your device:
Want paper instead? Pick your printer and print. Cardstock is great for the recipe cards.
Can I print recipe cards?
Yes. In Export my plan, tap Print my recipe cards. Your recipes print just as written on 4x6 cards, two to a page, ready to cut out, keep, or share with family. Cardstock works great.
Is there a bonus printable?
Yes! A "thankful" pennant flag is waiting for you in Export my plan. Tap Print my pennant to print it and add it to your table.
